1 Timothy 3:8-13 KJV 8Likewise must the deacons be grave, not double tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; 9Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. 10And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. 11Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. 12Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. 13For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Brother Joe Murphy

Favorite Verse:  Colossians 1:16 “All About Creation”

16For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Brother Murphy was raised in a Christian home and at the Tippecanoe Baptist Camp.  His sister asked him if he was ever going to go forward and accept the Lord.  He did and got baptized at his home church in Chili, Indiana.  {It was on the road to Lebanon, Indiana, listening to BMPage that he accepted Jesus as his savior and got saved.}

Brother Bill Bullock

Brother Bill claims the promise of Romans 8:28:  “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Brother Bill is currently serving as the Chairman of the Deacons.  He teaches the adult Sunday School Class and makes himself available for any of the activities of the church where he is needed.  He was saved on a Saturday in July of 1988, led to the Lord by a visiting pastor (in his home) making a visitation call and baptized on July 17, 1988.

Brother Jim Barnes

Brother Jim is a unique addition to our deacon committee.  He serves as our Choir director, one of three teen group leaders and our Associate Pastor.  Brother Jim also fantastically produces and directs our two cantatas each year.  Brother Jim’s joy in the Lord shines through the teens and youth of our church.
